Yesterday three of our Kawartha Komets got in some pre-season conditioning as they competed for Queen Elizabeth School in a Soccer Tournament at Beavermead Park.
The boys from left to right, Sam Wells, Nathan Fisher and Quinten Over had a great time missing school and playing soccer.
Quinten is one of several new free agents signed by the Komets in the off-season. It's great that three of our players attend the same school and have already become great friends.
Hockey begins "for real" this Saturday, October 16th at 10:15 a.m. at the Evinrude Centre when the Komets hold their first practice of the 2010-2011 season.
Our # 1 goaltender Travis Harren will begin the season on the disabled list as he will undergo surgery again on October 14th at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.
We stopped by to visit Travis tonight (Wednesday) and he was pretty upbeat. Please join us in praying for a quick recovery for Travis. He is so disappointed that he can't start the season where he loves to be...in goal.
See you Saturday at the rink!
Go Komets Go!
