Wow! It's been busy around the Kawartha Komets headquarters lately.
The phone has been ringing off the hook. The house is filled with hockey equipment. Prospective players are dropping in daily...it seems. We just signed another one this afternoon.
Check out our garage...old shin pads from the 50's. The basement? Hockey bags everywhere. The sun porch? Jerseys, socks & jocks. There might even be a pair of hockey pants from the Original Six days.
I'm dreaming about hockey! Tightening skates has become my job! Carol's list of responsibilities is as long as my leg. She's founder, co-ordinator, banker, agent, equipment fitter, plus everything else that needs to be done.
We've spoken to every service club in town. The Lions, the Tigers, the Moose, the Elks, the Kinsmen, the Kiwanis, the Rotary...now I'm exaggerating.
Am I complaining? NO! We're having a ball!
So, do you know someone who wants to join the Kawartha Komets? Bring 'em over. We'll sign 'em up, suit 'em up and fire 'em up.
Check us out this Saturday, Nov. 20th at the Evinrude Centre. The Juniors play at 10:15. The Intermediates/Seniors follow them at 11:15. Our opponents are the Newmarket Nighthawks.
The best hockey in town!
Go Komets Go!
