The
Jack McGee Kawartha Komets, Peterborough’s Special Needs Hockey Program,
recently presented Mary LaRocque and her staff at Marlin Travel with a plaque
recognizing their contribution to the Komets fundraising efforts.
The
Komets’ MISSION to MICHIGAN campaign was launched on August 15th, 2013 at a
special fundraising barbecue at the Heritage Plaza sponsored by Marlin Travel,
an associate sponsor of the team.
In
December the Kawartha Komets took on the Peterborough Petes in their second annual
fundraising game, with the proceeds of $13,000. going towards their MISSION to
MICHIGAN.
The
community has rallied behind the Komets in a big way enabling them to
participate in the upcoming Special Hockey International Tournament in Fraser,
Michigan from May 1st to 4th.
The
Kawartha Komets, giving girls, boys, teens and adults with physical, emotional
and/or neurodevelopmental challenges an opportunity to play the game they
love...hockey, just completed their 5th season with 64 players on 4 teams.
Blaze Komets, Blaze!
