Kawartha Komets Summer Picnic/BBQ/Pool Party at Elim Lodge

The Kawartha Komets Summer Picnic/BBQ/Pool Party is just around the corner. We will gather again this summer at beautiful Elim Lodge on Pigeon Lake on Sunday, August 10th from 1 - 6 p.m.

There will be lots of activities for all ages. Swimming, tennis, volleyball, baseball, ball hockey, bocci ball plus lots of playground activities.

For those who don't have transportation, we will have a small bus available to take people from the Evinrude Centre to Elim Lodge. There will be NO CHARGE for this. If you require a ride please call Carol Fisher @ (705) 750-0655 (home) or (705) 868-8825 (cell) ASAP. We need to know how many need a ride so we can confirm with the bus driver.

We hope to see you on Sunday, August, 10th!

Most house hot tubs & spas are accessible with molded seats developed for maximum comfort. Choose how many people you have to accommodate in your hot tub & find one with enough seating.

ROWAN'S LAW - Concussion Awareness and Protocol

The Ontario Government has enacted Rowan’s Law (Concussion Safety), 2018, S.O. 2018, c. 1 (“Act”). Ontario Regulation 161/19, the Act requires all sport organizations as defined in the Regulation (“Sports Organization”), which includes the Ontario Hockey Federation (“OHF”), to have a Concussion Code of Conduct.

This Concussion Code of Conduct must require participants, as set out in the Act, to review the Ontario Government’s issued Concussion Awareness Resources on an annual basis. A participant is subject to a Concussion Code of Conduct for each Sports Organization a participant registers with. Applicable age appropriate Concussion Awareness Resources are located at www.ontario.ca/concussions.

The OHF Concussion Code of Conduct and the appropriate Concussion Awareness Resources must be reviewed before you can register/participate in the OHF.

• 10 and Under Concussion Awareness Resource

• 11-14 Concussion Awareness Resource

• 15 and Over Concussion Awareness Resource

The Kawartha Komets insurance coverage through the OHF could be jeopardized if our membership does not comply with this requirement.
