Our 9th Season is Underway and the Komets are BLAZING!!!

The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program launched our 9th season of Special Hockey International play on September 23rd with our four (4) teams practicing at the Evinrude Centre.  We were back at it again on the 30th with four more practice sessions.  We have an exceptional coaching staff, committed on-ice volunteers, trainers and bench support staff so the players will have a great season!

On Saturday, October 14th, after taking Thanksgiving weekend off, we practiced again and traveled to Ajax, ON the next day to take on the Durham Dragons.  It was a great launch to our season and the Dragons will be in Peterborough on Saturday, October 28th...all four teams for four more games.  Come on out and catch some great SHI action at the Evinrude Centre.

Juniors (Saturns) play at 9:15 a.m..  The Intermediate # 1 (Galaxy) follow at 10:15.  The Intermediate # 2 team, the Meteors, face off at 11:15 and at 12:15 the Seniors (Phoenix) hit the ice.

Yesterday, October 21st, two teams, the Juniors and a combined Intermediate/Senior team hit the road again to play the Cambridge Ice Hounds.  We always enjoy our trip to the Galt Arena and our games with the Ice Hounds!

Today, Sunday, October 22nd we enjoyed a "FUN" game with the Port Hope Panthers Junior C team at the Legends Centre in Oshawa.  Everyone had a great time!

So...you can see...we've had a busy start to season # 9 and we are excited about fulfilling our mandate..."Making Dreams Come True".
